Rhubarb Granola

Hi!

I wasn't here for a while. My idea was to show you shortly and clearly what are the most important rules of leading healthy life style and healthy eating, but because I am not a dietician I struggled having that in mind . In my opinion it is vital to be aware how important are all this small details and basic stuff we do every day, and what impact eating healthy has in our life. And although leading healthy lifestyle, being fit etc became almost fashion, I found out plenty of people not having basic knowledge - one example might be (many!) women who want to loose weight using sweeteners instead of sugar, while this is 'smaller evil', but still evil... From my point of view there is bigger awareness of, basically knowledge about what to eat, why, how and when in Poland than here. Well, nothing really strange, I am sure that some big role plays economy in this field - that's not motivating, when sweets are cheaper than vegetables. I struggle avoiding sweets, because I can have everything for a pound!

So - what makes you doing better choices - awareness... As I mentioned I'm not the best person to teach you about proteins, carbohydrates, metabolism and impact food on your health. I can only share with you what I have heard, read and tried out. I will encourage you to look for the information everywhere you can, but sometimes I will share some basic information about vegetable, product a.s.o.

So, in summary... when I was thinking how could I pass to you all this knowledge I do and don't have I got frustrated - cause it would take me ages to prepare it all, translate, design etc. And my main purpose and dream was to share with you same recipes I know...so I just decided to start with that straight away.

Today I want to show you recipe for home-made Rhubarb Granola :-) It's season for rhubarb and I can see how much you like it - every time I go to supermarket is sold out ! I believe you will like this recipe... ;-)


Quickly about granola - it's baked muesli with anything you want to add to it. Why I encourage you to do it - because these in shops are fullllllllllllllllll..... of sugar .... and other colourings... in this granola you have natural products only - and I guarantee, a few spoons of this granola with milk/natural joghurt will give you energy for a good few hours! Anybody wants to try?

I got about 2 kg of granola from this recipe. 

Ingredients : 

  • porridge oats - 4 glasses
  • sunflower seeds - 8 tbs 
  • coconut shredds - 4 tbs
  • dried figs (finely chopped) - 8 tbs
  • raisins - 4 tbs
  • dactyls  - 300 g 
  • rhubarb - 600 g 
  • water - 10 tbs

Preparation:

  • Chop rhubarb in about 1 cm slices, chop dactyls. 
  • Put it to the pan with water and cook it to get rhubarb mousse. 
  • Add the rest of ingredients and stir it accurately. 
  • Put it to the baking tray covered with baking paper. 
  • Bake in 180˚C for 30 minutes or shorter, until granola will be dry. Stir it from time to time.
  • Store it in airtight jar/box up to two weeks time.
  • Serve with natural joghurt, milk, soya drink, almond/hazelnut/rye milk and favourite fruits.

What it really means "you are what you eat"

Have you ever wondered how complicated creation is human? (pssst, boys - it's not only about girls!)
The easiest way to show it is comparing human to high advanced machine.




Like every machine, our body needs to be turned on, given right fuel, looked after it, and turned off to let it rest, when required, so it could work efficient after turning it on again.

There are some rights existing in this world and they affects on nature and us as well. The sooner we will understand these rights and start to observe it, the better for us. Harmony is very important and if we want to feel good in our bodies we need to understand that feeling well with ourselves is connected with something more than looking fit.

Have you ever heard the phrase : "you are what you eat" ?

This is true. If you will bring awareness to what there is on your plate and will remember that your stomach is not a bin, you will be feeling well and your body will thank you for that.

I want you to have a look what are the consequences  of our choices.

The blue fields are the base - our tools. The green circles are our further tools, but indirect goals also, and the red clouds are our direct goals.

This is very simple graph but you can see very clearly how it works. Healthy eating supports you physical activities and makes you efforts visible quicker. Being active requires also many minerals and vitamins which are in healthy food. If you make it start, your machine will automatically runs. Thanks physical activities you will be feeling well and feel motivated, which a) will motive you to eating healthy and being active and will make you happy, looking better and feel stronger, what will build you self-confidence, and what will affects on you relationships with people, on your work and other fields of your life, too. You will be wanting challenges, you will be believing that you can make your dreams true and you will be able to make them true because of your self-confidence, what will make you more motivated, you will affect people around who also will motive you because they will see your metamorphose and happiness and they will want the same for them. Then you will be automatically much more motivated because you will see that this work you made effort to start are worthy and you will want people to feel like you so then you will motive them etc etc.

Can you see this process ? Do you get me ?
I am in this place where I started to experience what does it mean to do this effort and how many benefits there are for me . It's really difficullt to start but if you will do this effort you won't ever be disappointed and you will want to make people fell what you feel. So I do.

The only thing you need to do is experience it on your own...

Now - please, do it for yourself and people around - take the risk and start this fascinating journey!

FROM EVERYMAN TO HERO


Hi guys! 

I ran this blog to encourage you to doing two things: doing workouts and leading healthy lifestyle.

I am going to fully focus on healthy eating - I want to show you how important is caring about your health and how you can do it on daily basis. I want to show you that healthy food can be really delicious and even if you are busy mom, poor student or just hard working professional - you can still eat healthy. I am going to tell you more about it as soon as I will share a few other posts which are really important.

Probably you have heard that if you want to lose your weight, 70% of success is healthy eating and 30% is doing workouts. This is the good news for those who don't like to work out. But better news is that doing workouts gives you many, many benefits. And the other thing is - workouts are for everyone. But I will come back to that later.

As I said, I want to encourage you to doing workouts. I highly recommend to everyone trainings of Ewa Chodakowska, because her trainings are effective, not boring and she is really good motivator. But in my opinion, very important is to listen to your trainer. It's not only about what workouts to do, but how - technique is VERY IMPORTANT. That's why because of language barrier you won't be able to fully embrace her trainings. So what I'm gonna do is - I will translate her trainings which are available online so you could fully enjoy her workouts and motivation. I hope to share one of her first and most popular trainings in about one month.

I also will encourage you to do workouts of other trainers, such as Mel B., Tiffany Rothe, Keira LaShae etc. There is much more famous trainers in the world and this is great thing - because everyone can find something for himself. WE all are different and what I like can make you bored, so I encourage you to look for workouts you will enjoy.

Please see the table describing the emotions and feelings I experience while doing and not doing workouts. Please note that leading healthy lifestyle don't fluent so much on my emotions and decisions as doing workouts. 





I would say the emotions from the first column make one border and emotions from the second one create another border. Saying that I want to say that on doing workouts depends how near or far I am from one or another border. It's really surprising to be honest how big impact on our emotions and decisions have doing workouts!

There are two reasons for that I can think of right now.

1. Our body (as everything else in the Universe) has it own demands. If we give our body what it needs, we are happy and we feel well. And making the efforts to workouts set some of our hormones free which have impact on different parties of our body, they have impact on others etc. I will speak about it other time.

2. Doing workouts is taking the fight. While working out we fight with our weaknesses and change them onto our strengths. That's how we work on ourselves and we build our character. That's why doing workouts is so important - we become not only fit outside, but also strong inside.

I would like also explode one myth.

"Dreams/Goals/Challenges are available for heroes only.
It's not for me, I am not able to make it" 
 
That's the way of thinking much more people than you could suppose.
"I've tried but I just can't..."
"I've got not enough of time to make it..."
"I don't have enough of money..."
"He/she has had some support from family/friends for sure which I haven't"
"He/she has had conducive circumstances for sure"
"He/she is different, he/she was born with this gift"

Etc. etc ... 
Plenty of excuses.

This is truth, that sometimes people have conducive circumstances. They can have the gift and they can have the support which you haven't. But have you ever thought how many of them haven't, too? Lots of people who reached the success took many big battles, circumstances were very difficult and they didn't have any support. Some of them were very ill or were disabled, some of them were bullied and depressed. But they reached the goal and became heroes. How?

WORKING HARD.
SUCCESS = 20% OF TALENT AND 80% OF HARD WORK.

ANYBODY HAS BORN AS HERO. PEOPLE BECOME HEROES THANKS HARD WORK.

So what is the difference between Everyman and Hero?
To answer this question let me first show you their common points.


Hero is aware that he has weaknesses and strengths. He is focused on working over them.
He knows that learning on own mistakes is the best method.
He accepts that we all fall down.
But he always arises after falling down.
He doesn't give up.

He knows that THE WINNER IS NOT ONE WHO WON BUT THE ONE WHO FIGHTS.

So - what does it really mean for us ?? 
It means - Everybody can become a Hero, if he will only decide to. It may be you and me.

EVERYMAN CAN BE HERO.


Is there something more you should know about it?
Yes. 
EVERYMAN WON'T BECOME HERO WITHOUT BEARING THE COSTS.

Because everything what is really worthy is hard to reach.

What's going on with Chodakowska? What's that all about?

             WHO IS SHE ???



          WHAT MAKES HER 
              SO SPECIAL ???
Ewa was born in 24 February 1982 in Sanok in Poland and growing in ordinary polish family. She started to study Public Relations in 2001 in Warsaw Collage but she gave it up one year later as it made her really bored and she was literally sleeping on lessons. She was also looking for her way as actress and photograph. Meanwhile she was finding out more about sports as it was for her a source of endorphins, not money. She was also looking for fulfilment in England- she was working for two years in London, among others as a cleaner. As she says the weather took her energy away so she decided to go to Greece to get some sun.

There she started to attend to Pilates Academy in Athens and IAFA College Athens. After graduation she created fanpage on Facebok to promote her activity. Very soon she started to be known as Killer-Trainer. She started to indite her own trainings, being compilation of pilates, calenetics and cardio but she made them that way so they weren't boring.

The most important for her is work over intervals - changing the speed of exercises, and to put people working out through the hoops. And despite fact that people curse after her workouts and have a feeling that they are at the end of their tether, she says that a move and sport should be primarily the source of fun, and fitness is not only the way to get nice and slim figure, but also way to become permanently happy...

"We don't talk about eating chicken with rice three times a day and it's not about only survive at the gym ... It is the profession what helps me to to inspire and motivate people. I really enjoy when women burgeon on my eyes" - she says.

*** So - that's how it has started. ***

She stayed in Greece for two years and that's where she found her passion and her destiny. She also found there her big love-life, Lefteris Kavoukis. She started to write her training on piece of papers and just giving them to friends and also sending the workouts by emails so in the beginning the women were working out just looking on pieces of papers! And then they started to send her photos of their metamorphoses to share with her how much weight they lost and how do they look like now...

Ewa started to dream about going back to her fatherland and sharing her passion with her countrymen. But her husband couldn't leave his career just like that. He was one of the most famous trainers in Greece and his career has been built on solid ground. But Eva didn't give up and had an idea. Let's bet - she said. 'I will live one year in Poland and you will live in Greece. After one year, person who will reach smaller success will have to move to other half's country". Lefteris agreed.

Do I need to say who won ? .....
I'll just explain how has it happened.

Editor-in-Chief of "Shape" Magazine agreed to publish her training as long as she'll get few thousands of 'likes' on Facebook on her polish Fanpage. She quickly reached the goal, her training has been published and she recorder her first album with trainings. Soon after that she recorder the next one, still cooperating with "Shape" Magazine. That's how she become popular in Poland. The moved there one year after they bet, in 2012.

 Nobody knew who is Ewa Chodakowska in 2011. Now, four years later, millions of polish women can't imagine the day without training with Ewa on the screen of their computers'. She is known as "Trainer of all of polish women".

Why she ?
The answer is simple.

She is well educated personal trainer.
Her workouts are very effective.
Working out with Ewa means sweat, blood and tears, but also lots of fun.
She shares with us her knowledge regarding leading healthy lifestyle, including healthy eating.
She is always when we need her - she motivates us on daily basis, send us stones of love and encourage us, she replays to our messages and comments.
She is not a star. She is just happy woman with the passion who wants to share her happiness with all around.
